Important Update Regarding Today’s Incident and Tomorrow’s School Operations
Dear Parents and Carers,
We want to inform you about today’s serious incident at the Islamic College of Brisbane and the subsequent school operations scheduled for tomorrow. The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and community remain our highest priority.
Following today’s incident involving two students, we want to reassure all families that there is no ongoing risk to any student or staff member. The incident was managed promptly, and the injured student is receiving medical care and is currently recovering. Our thoughts and prayers are with the student and their family during this difficult time. The College is providing ongoing support to all affected.
We are pleased to confirm that the College will operate as normal tomorrow, with all classes proceeding as scheduled. To support everyone’s emotional wellbeing, additional wellbeing support will be available for students and staff throughout the day. We also emphasize the importance of sharing accurate information and avoiding speculation, as circulating unverified details can cause unnecessary distress and impact ongoing police investigations.
We appreciate your understanding, patience, and support during this challenging day. We encourage families to rely solely on official College communications and Queensland Police updates.
If you have any questions or require further support, please do not hesitate to contact the College via email at admin@icb.qld.edu.au. Our team is here to support our students and families through this difficult time.
Thank you for your ongoing trust and cooperation. We are committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone at the College.
Kind regards,
ICB Management
